Seoul's best-known theme park, opened in 1989 in the Jamsil district. It has two parts: Adventure, the indoor section and one of the largest indoor theme parks in the world, and Magic Island, an outdoor park on Seokchon Lake with a fairy-tale castle at its centre. Millions of people visit every year, and it works in any season because most of it is under a glass roof. The indoor section has rides for families and small children, a monorail circling the hall, an ice rink, and daily shows and parades. Magic Island has the faster and taller rides, some of which may close in rain, severe cold or heat. On the third floor of the indoor section there is a Muslim prayer room with a place for ablution, per visitor guides. Most restaurants in the park are not halal, so ask about ingredients or choose vegetable and seafood dishes. The park connects directly to Jamsil Station. Come at opening time on a weekday to avoid the queues, or buy the paid queue-skipping pass. A cheaper evening ticket is sold after 16:00.
