The best-known park at Walt Disney World near Orlando, Florida, opened on 1 October 1971 on the model of California's Disneyland. It has been the most visited theme park in the world for eighteen years running, with about 17.8 million visitors in 2024. Its icon is the towering Cinderella Castle, inspired by the 1950 animated film, reached along Main Street, U.S.A., designed as an early 20th-century American town with colourful shops and old-time vehicles. The park is divided into lands drawn from famous stories, Adventureland, Frontierland, Fantasyland and Tomorrowland, with shows and daytime parades and a nightly fireworks show over the castle to end the day. One-day, one-park tickets vary by date and start from about $129–139 before tax, per visitor guides. Give it a full day from opening, use the Disney app to book rides and check waiting times, and bring water and sun cream in the hot summer.
