Malam Jabba is a hill station and ski resort in the Hindu Kush range of Pakistan, about 40 km from Saidu Sharif in the Swat Valley, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 314 km from Islamabad and about 20 km northeast of Mingora in a straight line. It has one of only two ski resorts in Pakistan, the other being at Naltar. The road leaves the main Madyan–Kalam road at the town of Manglor and climbs past several villages up the valley to Jabba at its head. The ski resort is owned by the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation; its slope runs over 800 metres and its top stands at 2,804 metres above sea level. Mountains dark with pine forest rise in tiers to white peaks under winter snow, with villages and terraced fields scattered on the slopes and clouds drifting between the summits. In summer the slopes turn green and the air is mild. Visitors ski in winter and come in summer to escape the heat of the plains, walking among the forests. Check the UK Foreign Office's current guidance for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa before you plan.
