A mosque in the Al-Taneem district of northern Mecca, standing on the boundary of the Haram, and the nearest miqat for people staying inside the Haram boundary who want to enter ihram for Umrah. It is known as Masjid Aisha because Aisha, the Mother of the Believers, entered ihram for Umrah from here with the Prophet's permission. The mosque covers about 6,000 square metres and has two tall minarets. It has facilities for bathing, ablution and changing, used by pilgrims entering ihram as well as by worshippers attending the daily prayers. Many Umrah visitors staying in Mecca come here by car or taxi, bathe, put on ihram and pray, then return to the Grand Mosque to perform Umrah. On the road beside the mosque a sign marks where the Haram boundary begins and ends. Entry is free and the mosque is open for prayers. Remember that performing Umrah needs a permit booked in the «Nusuk» app, so book your slot before entering ihram, and bring your ihram clothes if you plan to bathe here. The mosque is busy in Ramadan.
