Between two hills.
A horseshoe bay between two green hills on Lombok's south coast, with soft white sand and calm turquoise water sheltered from the ocean swell, one of the south's best beaches for quiet swimming and relaxing, minutes from Kuta. The beach is fairly long and little built-up, shaded by a few trees, with simple huts selling coconuts and drinks and renting umbrellas. The hills at either end give lovely views over the whole bay. There is a token parking fee, with umbrellas extra. Small vendors can be numerous, so decline politely. Come in the morning or afternoon to swim, and combine it with Selong Belanak and Tanjung Aan on a tour of the southern beaches.

Mawun and Tanjung Aan for calm swimming, Selong Belanak for swimming and learning to surf. All are near Kuta.
