Among granite boulders.
Mina Clavero is a small town and the tourist centre of the Traslasierra valley, «beyond the mountains», on the western slope of the Córdoba hills. It is known for its river, chosen in a 2019 public contest as one of the «seven natural wonders of Argentina», its clear water running between smooth granite boulders that form natural pools and beaches. In summer the riverbanks fill with holidaymakers swimming in the pools and lying on the rocks, while hills and mountains around town invite walking and horse riding. Visitors come from Córdoba city over the Camino de las Altas Cumbres mountain road, which passes near Quebrada del Condorito National Park, so the drive is part of the trip. Wandering and swimming are free. The town is very busy in January and February; spring and autumn are calmer and better for walking.
