Yes, and it is one of the pleasant surprises of Annecy with them. The subject looks dry on paper but is **entirely sensory** in practice: fire, molten bronze, clay moulds and sound — and at the end the children strike the bells themselves and hear how size changes the note. The visit is short, an hour to an hour and a quarter, so it doesn't exhaust their patience. Combine it with the bike ride along the greenway from Annecy to Sévrier and it makes a full day.
Probably not, and this is worth being clear about before going. The place is **a real working foundry**, not a show: pours happen according to customer orders and the production schedule, not the visitor timetable, and weeks can pass without one. What the museum offers is the process explained through moulds, tools, film and real pieces, and it is thorough and convincing. If seeing a pour is specifically what you want, write to them in advance and ask about any **announced event**.

A family bell foundry founded in **1796** and still working today, on the western shore of Lake Annecy at Sévrier. More than two centuries and successive generations of the **Paccard** family casting bronze and tuning pitch, their bells hanging in churches and towers around the world. The most famous thing to leave here is **La Savoyarde**, the enormous bell cast in 1891 and carried to Paris to hang in the Sacré-Cœur basilica on the hill of Montmartre — one of the largest bells in France. Bells have gone from here to other continents for major occasions too. The museum explains a craft nobody knows anything about until they see it: how the mould is built from clay and tallow, how the proportions are calculated so the bell comes out **on a precisely determined note** rather than by chance, how molten bronze is poured, and how the sound is then tuned by fine filing from inside the bell. And the part everyone loves at the end: **bells you can strike yourself**, in a range of sizes, so you hear the difference with your ear rather than through an explanation.
