Rural architecture.
The Casa do Colono Museum is a small ethnographic museum in the Passo do Risseti Ecological Park in Tibagi, in the Campos Gerais region of Paraná. It shows the homes, customs and daily life of European immigrants, together with the world of the «tropeiros», the drovers who drove cattle and mules across southern Brazil. The museum is in a house built around 1926 by a Ukrainian immigrant couple, with features of rural Ukrainian architecture, alongside a wooden storehouse that held a tannery and a shoemaker's workshop. Ownership passed through several families until the tannery closed in the 1980s; the town council then bought the property, and the museum opened in 2003 together with the ecological park. The museum displays furniture, household objects, decorative pieces and clothing from the early twentieth century, giving a vivid picture of the first settlers' lives. It is a short visit that can be combined with a walk in the park or a trip to the nearby Guartelá canyon.
