Brazil-nut era.
The Francisco Coelho Municipal Museum is a history museum in Marabá, south-eastern Pará, created to preserve and present the city's historical and cultural heritage in a modern, interactive way. It is run by the Fundação Casa da Cultura de Marabá, which owns much of the collection. The museum opened on 7 August 2020 in the Palacete Augusto Dias in the Marabá Pioneira district, a historic building of 1939 from the Brazil-nut boom, listed in the 1990s. It once housed the city's executive, legislative and judicial powers and was fully restored from 2017 to house the museum, with a lecture hall, a lift and braille signs. The museum is named after Francisco Coelho, a trader from Maranhão who founded Marabá in 1898 when he opened a store called «Casa Marabá» between the Itacaiúnas and Tocantins rivers.
