A museum in Dubai's Financial District on Sheikh Zayed Road, devoted to exploring the future of science, technology and innovation. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum opened it on 22 February 2022 with a light show on its facade, and its founders say it looks to the future rather than the past. The building is a hollow, silver oval ring seven storeys high, its facades covered in windows shaped as Arabic calligraphy spelling out verses about the future by Sheikh Mohammed, which glow from within at night. It is one of the most photographed buildings in Dubai. Inside, interactive floors take visitors on a journey to the year 2071, including an orbital space station, a DNA library showing thousands of plant and animal species in glowing tubes, a wellness and meditation space and a children's floor. The exhibits change over time. It opens daily from 10:00 to 19:00 with last entry at 17:00, according to the official site; adult tickets are about 149 AED per visitor guides, free for under-fours and people of determination with a companion. Book ahead, as tickets are timed.
