The nearest good beach to Bandar Lampung and a local favourite, on calm Lampung Bay, with pale sand and clear, shallow water, facing the small wooded island of Tangkil, a few minutes away by boat. The beach has huts and umbrellas for hire, banana boats and canoes, and small seafood restaurants. The water is calm on most days as it lies in a sheltered bay, suiting family and children's swimming. Boats also leave from here for the bay's other islands, among them Pahawang, famed for snorkelling. Entry is a small fee of about ten to twenty thousand rupiah, with boats and activities priced separately. It is busy on holidays and weekends. The beach is about half an hour from the city, good for half a day or as a starting point for Pahawang island.
