A white-sand beach in Ayia Napa, about 500 m long in its own cove, holder of the Blue Flag for clean water and one of the best-known beaches in Cyprus. It takes its name from the small uninhabited islet just offshore, covered in low vegetation, which you can reach on foot through the shallow water and which shelters the beach from the waves. The water is clear and turquoise, with water sports on offer and sunbeds and umbrellas for hire. In high summer it gets crowded and loud, with music at the beach bars. The beach is public and free. If you prefer quiet, come in the morning or early and late in the season. Low rocks at either end are good for snorkelling on calm days.
