A long, calm beach just north of Ao Nang, running about three kilometres under casuarina trees, inside Hat Noppharat Thara–Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park, so no hotels or bars stand on it. It looks out to Krabi's limestone islands on the horizon, among them Ko Poda and Chicken Island. At low tide the sea pulls far back, revealing wide stretches of wet sand that mirror the sky, and you can walk out to small rocky islets nearby. At its northern end are a river mouth and the Noppharat Thara pier, where boats leave for Phi Phi and Railay, and simple food stalls under the trees that Krabi families visit on holidays. Entry is free. The beach is far quieter than Ao Nang and suits families and picnics; the simple restaurants under the trees serve seafood and Thai Muslim dishes, as most people in the area are Muslim. Swimming is best at high tide; the sea is calm from November to April and rough from May to October. Come before sunset, one of Krabi's best, when the sun reflects on the wet sand between the islands.

Yes at high tide in the calm season; at low tide the sea retreats far and it is for walking and photos.
