A horseshoe-shaped glass platform opened in 2013, jutting out from the edge of a cliff about 35 metres above the sea in the south-east of Busan. You walk on glass with the waves breaking on the rocks beneath you and the small rocky Oryukdo islets ahead. The islets' name means «five-six islands», because they look like five or six depending on the tide: the one nearest the shore appears as a single island at some times and as two at others. All are uninhabited, and the farthest carries a lighthouse. This spot is taken as the point where the East Sea meets the South Sea. Entry is free, and shoe covers are handed out at the entrance to protect the glass. The platform is small and takes minutes to visit, but around it is a clifftop park that flowers in spring, and the Igidae coastal trail starts here: a walk between rocks and forest with views of Gwangan Bridge that takes about two hours. The platform closes in rain and strong wind. It is reached by bus from Line 2 stations, as it is far from the metro.
