A summit of about a thousand metres, usually given as the highest point on Cebu island, surrounded by jagged rocky hills clothed in green grass, like frozen waves of stone. From the top you see both the east and west coasts of the island, the Tañon Strait and, on the horizon, the island of Negros. Despite the height, the climb is short: the road takes you to a farming village near the summit, and from there an easy trail of twenty to thirty minutes leads between vegetable fields. That is why visitors come for sunrise, climbing in the dark to arrive before first light and watch mist fill the valleys between the hills. The summit is much cooler than the coast, and the wind can be strong, so bring a light jacket. Around the peak are other hills you can walk to for a longer route. Visitors usually arrive by motorbike from the coast road at Dalaguete. The trip is often combined with Kawasan Falls or Moalboal in one day, as both are close.

Mantalongon, Dalaguete, southern Cebu; about three hours from Cebu City, then a motorbike from the coast road
No: the road reaches a village near the summit, and from there an easy trail takes under half an hour. A sunrise climb is in the dark, though, so bring a torch.
