Pacific Harbour is a small town on the south coast of Viti Levu, in Serua Province, 12 km west of Navua. Known as «the adventure capital of Fiji», it lies about 39 km in a straight line from the Fiji Museum in Suva. The town has about 1,900 residents, with a marina, a small airport, restaurants, hotels, villas and a market, as well as a school, a health centre, a post office and a sports ground. It offers water activities such as shark diving and river rafting, and is the gateway to Beqa Island, known for its coral reefs. Calm canals wind through the town, mirroring palms and forest, framed by gardens, green golf fairways and roads lined with hibiscus. From the inner roads the green hills of the Nandrau Plateau show on the horizon. Look for licensed operators before booking diving or rafting, and follow safety briefings. The town suits a stay of a day or more, or an easy day trip along the coast from Suva.
