The Palacete Pedro Osório is a historic building in Bagé, Rio Grande do Sul, listed by the state historic and artistic heritage institute. The physician Pedro Osório began building it in the early twentieth century, the architect Pedro Obino is thought to have designed it, and beside it is a small grove the doctor planted himself. The mansion was sold to the city of Bagé in 1951 and housed the Silveira Martins primary school, becoming the state secondary school in 1954 and the Carlos Kluwe school from 1966. Since 1999 it has housed the city's culture department, and it was renovated in 2019. Its eclectic style mixes decorative elements from Greek, Roman, neoclassical, Art Nouveau and Mannerist traditions. It is thought to have been based on a house in Bologna, Italy, while another theory holds that it copies a Paris building near the Printemps department store, which also has two dog statues at its entrance. It can be admired from outside on a walk around town.
