Thien Duong, Paradise Cave, was found by a local man in 2005 and explored between 2005 and 2010 by the British Cave Research Association, which put its length at 31.4 kilometres, among the longest caves in Asia. The explorers named it Paradise for its formations and judged it bigger and finer than Phong Nha Cave itself. Unlike Phong Nha it is a dry cave with no river, and visitors follow a wooden walkway of about 1.1 kilometres, opened on 3 September 2010, past huge calcite columns and white formations like curtains and chandeliers, in high chambers under soft lighting. Inside it stays cool all year compared with the heat outside. To get there you leave the car and ride an electric cart about 1.6 kilometres through the forest, then climb 524 stone steps to the entrance; the stairs down inside are steep at first. Bring water and comfortable shoes, and allow at least two hours.

Phong Nha is a boat trip on a river inside the mountain; Paradise Cave is a walkway through a dry cave with bigger formations. With a full day you can see both.
