Dona Lindu Park is a public park in Recife's Boa Viagem district, on the famous Boa Viagem beachfront between Avenida Boa Viagem and Avenida Visconde de Jequitinhonha, on land that once belonged to the Air Force. It was designed by the architect Oscar Niemeyer and bears the nickname «Dona Lindu» of Eurídice Ferreira de Melo. The park was built with about 30 million reais of investment on roughly 27,000 square metres by the sea, 60 percent of it green space. Niemeyer's plan includes cycle, jogging and skate tracks, a multi-sport court, a playground, rest and exercise areas, a theatre, an exhibition pavilion, a restaurant and family facilities. Visitors come for Niemeyer's curving white lines against the sea; it suits a sunset walk or a show in its theatre. Entry is free; check the theatre and exhibition programme.
