Graciosa State Park was created by decree on 24 September 1990 in the municipality of Morretes on the slopes of the Serra do Mar between Curitiba and the coast. It protects the region's biodiversity, Atlantic Forest, mountains and water sources, while encouraging visits compatible with Brazil's protected-area system. The park is closely tied to the Estrada da Graciosa, the historic stone-paved road that winds down through the forest from the plateau towards Morretes and Antonina. Counted among the most beautiful roads in Paraná, it is lined with bends, rest stops and lookouts over forested valleys and mountains. The park is part of the Atlantic Forest Biosphere Reserve, and visitors come on a day trip from Curitiba to drive the road, stop at the lookouts and short trails, and then eat the traditional barreado stew in Morretes. Mist is common in the mountains, so pick a clear day and drive carefully on wet stone.

Yes, it is central to the visit, but it is narrow and stone-paved, so drive slowly.
