At 2,025 metres, Pico do Itapeva is one of the highest points in Brazil you can reach by car, on the border between Campos do Jordão and Pindamonhangaba, the municipality that holds the summit itself. From its viewpoint, on clear days, you look down on the Paraíba Valley and its towns. Stopping at the roadside viewpoint is free, and next to it a managed site with a lavender field and a lake charges a small entry fee. The view is best on clear days.
