Pico do Urubu is a 1,160-metre peak in the Serra do Itapeti in Mogi das Cruzes, on the edge of Greater São Paulo, and one of the town's main sights, where free flying is possible all year round. Its launch ramp draws paragliders and hang-gliders, especially in winter, and cyclists ride up to enjoy the view before descending a drop of about 370 metres to the level of the town centre. The summit gives a full 360-degree view: to the north the Mantiqueira range in the distance, to the west the towns of Suzano, Poá and Itaquaquecetuba, to the east the length of the Serra do Itapeti, and to the south Mogi das Cruzes with the Serra do Mar behind it. It is lovely at sunset; go on a clear day.
