The museum excludes the factory; production-line tours book out weeks ahead on the site and reward the devoted โ you watch 911s hand-built. For ordinary visitors the museum alone is complete.
Gleaming racers, simulators and a kids' driving corner โ it works from about six. The size is contained, so no exhaustion, with the cafรฉ above the square.
Morning at Mercedes (the broader) for three hours, a ~40-minute cross-city train, afternoon at Porsche for ninety minutes โ dinner in the centre. Reversed works for those who like ending on the bigger one.

The Porsche Museum is Stuttgart's temple of speed: a white futurist body floating on three pillars over the factory square in Zuffenhausen, holding some eighty cars that tell the marque's legend โ from Ferdinand Porsche's first designs to Le Mans champions and the 911 through its generations. The philosophy is the opposite of encyclopaedic: a focused museum polished like a showroom, its cars kept genuinely running โ a glass workshop inside lets you watch Porsche's mechanics working on the treasures โ and some still race in historic events today. The site itself is sacred to the faithful: here in Zuffenhausen the 911 was born and is still built behind the wall. For a Porsche lover, the trip of a lifetime; for car people generally, a concentrated ninety minutes completing the Mercedes day.
