Praia da Daniela lies on a small peninsula in the north of Santa Catarina Island, between Jurerê Internacional and Sambaqui, about twenty-eight kilometres from central Florianópolis, in a quiet residential area of holiday homes. It is one of the calmest and most family-friendly beaches in Florianópolis, with very still water suited to small children and the mainland coast visible across the bay. The sand is fairly narrow, with rocks at the right end and mangroves at the left, and it shrinks further at high tide. A short path links it to neighbouring Praia do Forte, so the walk can continue along the shore. It suits a quiet half day away from the busier northern beaches; check the tide table before going.
