Praia da Guilhermina is one of the best-known beaches of Praia Grande on the south coast of São Paulo state, near Santos and São Vicente. It runs for about a kilometre and a half between Aviação and Boqueirão beaches, with yellowish-white sand and blue sea. Praia Grande is a resort town much visited by people from São Paulo on holidays, thanks to its closeness to the capital via the Anchieta and Imigrantes highways, and Guilhermina beach is fully serviced: a seafront promenade lined with kiosks, a police post, beach cleaning, lifeguards, restaurants and hotels. The beach suits families, strolls along the promenade and seafood at the kiosks, and it gets very crowded in summer and at weekends. Visit on weekdays outside the peak season, and swim in areas watched by lifeguards.
