From the cliffs.
Praia das Fontes, the «Beach of the Springs», lies in Beberibe on the east coast of Ceará and takes its name from the many freshwater springs that burst from its coloured cliffs and run down towards the sea. The beach has extensive tourist infrastructure, including resorts. Among its highlights is the «labyrinth», a group of coloured cliffs dominated by shades of red from which sands of many colours are taken. Between these formations appear small freshwater lakes, dunes and springs that make for a refreshing bathe. The beach adjoins the Beberibe Cliffs Natural Monument and Morro Branco, so the two combine well in a day, along with a buggy ride over the dunes. Go at low tide, when the sand widens and the springs show clearly at the foot of the cliffs.
