Calm pools.
Águas Belas, «Beautiful Waters», is a beach in Cascavel, Ceará, about sixty-five kilometres from Fortaleza, known for its lovely scenery where the Mal Cozinhado River meets the sea. At the river mouth, calm pools form between the sand and the river, changing with the tides and suited to gentle swimming and strolling. The beach has a fair number of beach huts and a good choice of guesthouses for those wanting to stay. A popular outing is a buggy ride that reveals the semi-arid caatinga plants typical of the area, along with the coastal dunes. Caponga beach lies just to the west, so the two combine well in a day from Fortaleza or Beberibe.
