Búzios beach lies in Nísia Floresta, south of Natal on the coast of Rio Grande do Norte, a popular summer holiday spot, not to be confused with the famous town of Búzios in Rio de Janeiro state. Most of its shore has strong, dangerous waves suited to surfing, but it also has a calm little cove good for swimming, windsurfing and kitesurfing. Its sand dunes are used for sandboarding and for the buggy rides the region is known for. It suits a day on the coastal «Rota do Sol» south of Natal; pick the calm cove for swimming and keep clear of the strong waves elsewhere. Follow the lifeguards' advice.
