Praia do Maçarico is one of the best-known beaches of the seaside town of Salinópolis in Pará. The Orla do Maçarico waterfront runs its full length, lined by a pedestrian promenade along the entire beach. The tree-lined promenade suits strolling and running and is a favourite spot for watching the sun set over the sea, with kiosks and restaurants along the way. The beach is a short distance from the historic Salinópolis lighthouse in the town centre. At low tide the sand widens, making room for long walks along the shore. Combine an evening walk on the promenade with a day on the broad Atalaia beach east of town, with its dunes and freshwater lakes.
