Praia do Sono, «Sleep Beach», is one of the most beautiful beaches in Paraty, with no road to it, so you arrive on foot or by water taxi; there are no direct boats from central Paraty. Both routes start at the gate of the Laranjeiras residential condominium, where cars park and Paraty buses stop. From there a free van takes visitors about five minutes to the condominium pier, where boats leave for Sono, 10 to 15 minutes for about R$50, daily 8:00-18:00 (to 19:00 in the busiest weeks). The walking trail is moderate, crossing Atlantic Forest, and takes one to three and a half hours depending on where you start. From Sono, walkers carry on about an hour and a half to Ponta Negra, the last beach on this trail, and can return by boat.
