One of the largest constructed wetlands in the tropics, built to clean water before it reaches Putrajaya Lake and since grown into a broad nature park of small lakes, reed beds and boardwalks, home to water birds and fish. Visitors walk boardwalks and bridges over the water and climb an observation tower overlooking the marshes; there is an interpretive centre on wetlands and their value. It is quiet and suits nature lovers and birdwatchers, especially early in the morning. Entry is free, and the park opens daily from seven in the morning to seven in the evening; some facilities, such as the lakeside recreation centre, keep shorter hours and close on Mondays. The park is large and exposed, so early morning is far better than midday; bring water and insect repellent. It is a little further from the mosques and bridges of central Putrajaya, so keep it for when you have extra time.
