The Roc del Quer lookout is a 20 m metal walkway reaching out into the air above a deep valley in Canillo parish, Andorra. Twelve metres of it hang about 500 m above the ground, and part of its floor is clear glass, so you see the valley under your feet. The lookout opened in July 2016 at a cost of about €400,000, with the path to it rebuilt too. At its end sits a sculpture of a thinking man perched on a beam, by the artist Miguel Ángel González. A team of local engineers and architects designed it. You walk a short path from the road through the trees, then step out onto the hanging walkway. From the end you see the Valira d'Orient and Montaup valleys, the villages of Canillo and Encamp and winding roads below, with snowy peaks beyond. At the start a big wooden frame frames the view for photos. The lookout is under 1 km west of Canillo and 1.5 km from Sant Joan de Caselles church. Entry is free. Those afraid of heights may find the glass floor hard, and it can be windy.
