An old river town on the Chaohu Lake plain south of Hefei whose name means «three rivers», as the Fengle and Xiaonan rivers flow into the Hangbu River here on its way to the lake; it is mentioned in the ancient Zuozhuan chronicle, was listed among China's famous historic towns in 2007 and rated 5A, China's top grade, in 2015. The town covers 4.71 square kilometres of old stone-paved lanes and streets between traditional houses and shops, with bridges over the canals, and a few small paid sites, among them the old home of the Nobel-winning physicist Chen-Ning Yang and the long-established Liu Tong Xing Long shop. The town is always open and free to enter, while the small sites have a CNY 50 ticket for four of them or an all-in pass of CNY 110, open from 8 am to 5.30 pm, per visitor guides.
