An interactive science centre in Al Khobar, run by the Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Foundation and known as «Scitech». It stands on a 21,700-square-metre plot with 14,100 square metres of buildings, designed to the standards of the world's leading science centres. It has four main exhibition halls, among them Earth and Space, the Living World and Our Beautiful Seas, whose tanks hold reef fish and turtles, plus the Discovery Oasis, an astronomical observatory and a science dome with an IMAX screen. The idea is learning by doing: visitors, especially children and students, touch, try and watch displays about the universe, nature and science, while the dome shows films about space and the oceans. The science halls cost 20 SAR for adults and 10 SAR for children, a dome show 25 SAR, and a combined ticket 45 SAR for adults and 35 SAR for children, according to the official site, VAT included.
