A rocky cape running out to sea south of Seongsan Ilchulbong, and one of the loveliest coastal walks on Jeju. In the island's dialect, koji means a tongue of land in the sea; here it is dark red volcanic rock covered in grass, with waves breaking on both sides. Visitors follow an easy path along the cliff towards a small white lighthouse on a hill, reached by a short flight of steps. From there you see Seongsan peak to the north and a lone rock standing in the water near the shore. In spring, from March to April, fields of yellow rapeseed cover the whole slope, making it one of the most photographed spots on the island. The cape has modern buildings designed by the Japanese architect Tadao Ando, among them a glass building facing the sea. Well-known Korean television dramas were filmed here, which brings their fans. The walk is free. It is windy most days, so bring a jacket even in summer. It combines easily with Seongsan Ilchulbong in half a day.
