Serra do Rio do Rastro is a mountain range in south-east Santa Catarina crossed by the SC-390 road between Lauro Müller below and Bom Jardim da Serra on the plateau, with about 284 hairpin bends over roughly 24 km past deep cliffs, forest and waterfalls. The British newspaper The Guardian ranked it among the world's five most spectacular roads. At the top, at about 1,460 metres in Bom Jardim da Serra, a viewpoint shows every bend coiling down the mountainside, and on clear days the Atlantic is visible about 100 km away. The road is fully lit at night, so from the viewpoint it looks like a ribbon of light. The viewpoint and the road are free. Frost is common on the heights and snow sometimes falls, so drive the bends with great care and check road conditions in winter and in rain.

Yes with slow, careful driving; but frost is common on the heights and snow is sometimes possible, so check conditions before setting off.
