A private museum on the Al Samriya estate in Al-Shahaniya, about 20 km west of Doha on the Dukhan road, opened in 1998 by Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani in fort-style buildings spread over a large site. It brings together a vast and varied collection gathered by its owner over decades, preserving the heritage of Qatar and the region: inlaid wooden furniture, old daggers and weapons, copper and pottery vessels, pearling tools, and traditional costumes and jewellery. Its best-known section is a large collection of vintage vehicles, from trucks and classic cars to brightly painted buses, alongside halls of coins, manuscripts and Islamic art. Tickets are QR 50 for adults and QR 30 for students and seniors, with children under 12 free. It opens Monday to Thursday 09:00–17:00, Friday 14:00–19:00 and Saturday 10:00–18:00, and is closed on Sundays. Allow at least two hours.
