Falls in a valley

A lovely waterfall on the Medan-Berastagi road near Doulu village, dropping off a green-clad rock face into a deep valley and collecting in a rocky pool at its base, surrounded by mountain forest on the slopes of the volcano Sibayak. From the car park near the road you can see the falls from above, then walk down a path and stairs to the base in about twenty minutes, among cold spray and rocks. The climb back is a little tiring. Entry is a small fee of about ten thousand rupiah. The stairs are slippery after rain, so take care. It is an easy stop on the way to Berastagi, about an hour and a half from Medan, combined with the Penatapan viewpoint and Berastagi's fruit market.

Going down is fairly easy, but the climb back is a little tiring and the stairs are slippery after rain. You can simply watch from the top.
