The Solar do Barão de Jundiaí is an 1862 building in central Jundiaí, built for Antônio de Queiroz Teles, the first Baron of Jundiaí, in the coffee boom of inland São Paulo. The state heritage council listed it in 1970. The single-storey house was built of rammed earth and is considered a typical building of the 19th-century coffee period in the interior of São Paulo. Its facade has ten windows set symmetrically around the front door, and it keeps many original features, such as interior walls, frames and ornaments, with a small garden behind. Since 1982 it has housed the Historical and Cultural Museum of Jundiaí, whose collection is listed at city level and tells the story of the town and its people. It makes a short visit in the town centre; check opening times.
