Storms River Mouth is the best known spot in the Tsitsikamma section of Garden Route National Park, where a narrow dark river meets the Indian Ocean between forested cliffs. Visitors come for the suspension bridge over the mouth, the native forest and the wild rocky coast. Tsitsikamma was once a separate national park along 80 km of coast, and in March 2009 it was merged with Wilderness and other land into Garden Route National Park. Its name comes from the Khoekhoe language and is usually taken to mean «place of much water». The famous Otter Trail begins here and needs its own booking. From the camp a boardwalk leads through the trees to the suspension bridge, which sways a little above the water, and you see waves crash on folded brown and grey rocks. The camp has a restaurant, shop, chalets, an adventure bookings office and a lookout platform. The nearby Bloukrans Bridge is known for its 216 m bungee jump. It is 47 km in a straight line from Robberg and 77 km from the Knysna Heads, so you need a car. The weather is changeable and often wet, so bring a rain jacket and shoes that grip wet timber. Arrive early in busy seasons, as the bridge is quieter in the morning, and save time for a forest walk.

A little, but it suits most visitors. The boardwalk can be slippery.
