An amusement complex on the Bai Chay waterfront, built around the Queen Cable Car, which climbs from the shore to Ba Deo hill. When it opened in 2016 it set two Guinness World Records: the tallest cable car tower, at 188.88 metres, and the largest cabin, holding 230 passengers. At the top, Sun Peak has the Sun Wheel, a giant wheel whose summit stands about 215 metres above the sea, with the widest view over the bay and the city, as well as a Japanese garden, a wax museum and children's play areas. Down by Bai Chay beach are Dragon Park, with its rides, and the Typhoon water park, which opens in the warmer months. The cable car ride takes about 15 minutes each way, and the views are best late in the day and at sunset. Opening hours vary by day and season, and on weekdays the cable car often runs only in the afternoon, so check before you go. Families can easily spend half a day here.
