Šútovo Waterfall is a waterfall in the Malá Fatra mountains of northern Slovakia, about 4 km north of the village of Šútovo and 25 km southeast of Žilina in a straight line. It lies in the middle of the Šútovo Valley National Nature Reserve. At 38 metres it is the highest waterfall in Malá Fatra. It formed as the mountain range rose and the Turiec basin sank, and it sits on the presumed geological boundary between granite and granodiorite. It is fed by the Šútovo stream, which springs from a striking rock formation called Moses' Springs, and the stream is 2.5 metres wide just above the falls. A long white thread of water drops down a dark grey, moss-covered rock face in thick green forest, its spray scattering over the rocks at the base, and the flow swells in spring after the snowmelt. Visitors reach it on foot along the blue-marked trail from Šútovo village in about an hour, or from the opposite side via the Chleb chalet. The trail climbs over some rocks, so wear proper walking shoes.
