Indonesia's best-known safari park and a favourite of Arab families in Puncak, on the mountain slopes at Cisarua among forests and farms. The core idea is a drive through wide grounds where animals roam freely around you: zebras, giraffes, elephants, buffalo and bears, which may come close to ask for carrots through the car windows. After the safari drive, visitors enter the walking area, home to the Panda Palace with a pair of giant pandas, enclosures for tigers, lions and orangutans, more than twenty-five rides, daily educational animal shows and a small waterfall inside the park. On Saturdays a night safari is held with shows and music. The official adult ticket is about two hundred and thirty thousand rupiah on weekdays and two hundred and fifty-five thousand at weekends, less for children, plus a parking fee. The Saturday night safari is ticketed separately. Come in your own car or with a driver, since the drive is the heart of the experience, and set off early before the notorious Puncak road traffic on holidays. Buy carrots at the entrance to feed the animals, and do not open windows fully near the big animals.

Park buses run the safari, but the best experience is in a private car or with a driver, stopping at the animals at your own pace. Most families hire a car and driver from Jakarta or Puncak.
