A digital art museum in Toyosu, created by the art collective teamLab with DMM.com and opened on 7 July 2018. It is built on the idea of «body immersive» art: visitors step into the works instead of looking at them from a distance. It has four huge artwork spaces and two gardens: in one, a forest of twinkling lights reflected in endless mirrors; in another, giant coloured spheres that change colour; and in a third, visitors wade through knee-deep water where glowing koi swim and react to their movements. Two gardens were added in 2021: one with thousands of orchids hanging in the air that rise and fall as you approach, and a moss garden with shining egg-shaped sculptures that change with the time of day. Visitors go barefoot and wade through water in some rooms, so roll-up trousers work best, and the mirrored floors make skirts impractical. Tickets are timed, with dynamic prices from about 3,600 yen for adults per visitor guides; booking ahead is wise.
