The Santa Rosa hot springs are a set of thermal pools in a green valley of the Colombian Andes, beneath a tall waterfall spilling down a forested rock wall. Warm water steams in the pools, small streams run over the rock and thick forest surrounds them. The water rises naturally at 40 to 60 °C and is cooled in the pools for comfort. Beside the pools is the Santa Helena waterfall, reached by a paved path past the entrance. The complex is run by a hotel in the same valley. You sit in the warm pools with the waterfall in front of you and the forest around, then walk the paved path to the falls to watch the water pour down the rock among the trees, with small streams running toward the pools. The springs are about 9 km in a straight line east of the town of Santa Rosa de Cabal, near Pereira. Bring modest swimwear, drink water, and do not stay in the hot water too long.
