Termas Geométricas is a hot-spring complex in a narrow gorge inside Villarrica National Park, south-east of Pucón in Chile's Araucanía region. It is known for a design that combines stone pools and red wooden walkways in thick rainforest. The Chilean architect Germán del Sol designed it, with around twenty stone pools fed by volcanic hot water at different temperatures from springs in the gorge walls. A long, zigzagging wooden walkway links the pools, with small waterfalls tumbling above them. You see a long red wooden walkway running between gorge walls covered in giant ferns and moss, with clear steaming pools below. At its end a white waterfall drops from the rock, and small red wooden huts with grass roofs serve as changing rooms. It is about 25 km from Pucón in a straight line, and the last road is gravel. It is especially beautiful in winter with snow, and booking ahead is advised.
