A small island in the middle of Ha Long Bay with a crescent of white sand at its foot and a viewpoint on its summit. It is named after the Soviet cosmonaut Gherman Titov, who visited with Ho Chi Minh on 22 January 1962; Ho Chi Minh renamed the island in his honour, and a monument to Titov was put up there in 2015. Most visitors climb the long stairway of several hundred steps to the small pavilions on top, for one of the widest views of the bay, with boats and islets spread out below. The climb takes 15 to 20 minutes and is steep in places. Below, the little beach is one of the few in the bay where cruise passengers can swim. Ti Top is on route 2 of the day trips together with nearby Sung Sot Cave, and most cruises stop here. Come early or late in the day to avoid the midday crowds on the stairs.
