A forest waterfall at the foot of the volcano Mount Sibayak known as the two-colour waterfall because its water turns a pale milky blue in the pool at its base, from dissolved sulphurous minerals, while at the top it looks white, the two colours meeting in a striking scene. It can be reached only on foot through the rainforest, about two to three hours from the Sibolangit camp, on a path crossing streams and roots with climbs and descents, enjoyable for walkers but tiring. A local guide is advisable. Entry is about IDR 25,000, and a guide about 100,000 to 300,000 for the group. It opens from seven in the morning to five in the afternoon, and you must leave the forest before dark. The water is sulphurous, so do not drink it, and swimming is not advised. The site sometimes closes after heavy rain for fear of flash floods, so check before going.
