Morning S10 (sit right going up), ten easy minutes to the summit, tower, terrace coffee — then the choice: quick return, or the Planet Trail to Felsenegg with lunch there, the Adliswil cable car and tram 4. Version two is a full 'Swiss day' at stroll effort.
The train lands near the top and the remaining path is paved, gently rising — prams manage acceptably. The Planet Trail itself is broad and near-level, genuinely among Switzerland's most pram-friendly. Only the tower is pure stairs.
Summer afternoons can cloud with thermal build — go early. And city-rain days may be its rain too (not golden fog) — the live webcams on the railway site settle it before boarding, always.

The Uetliberg is Zurich's own mountain — 870 metres the city fondly calls 'Top of Zurich': the S10 leaves the main station every half-hour and climbs the forest twenty minutes to near the summit, standing you over the whole city, the lake's crescent, and the Alpine chain from Säntis to the Bernese wall on the horizon. An iron tower (stairs, token fee) lifts you above the trees for the full circle, and a historic summit restaurant serves the lazy terraces. From here starts the Planet Trail: a level two-hour ridge walk to Felsenegg with the solar system modelled to scale along it — returning by the Felsenegg cable car and tram. In winter it turns family sledge-run; in autumn it floats above the famous fog sea — a four-season mountain on a city transit ticket.
