Užutrakis Manor is a grand white residence of the Tyszkiewicz family from the late 19th century, set on a peninsula between lakes Galvė and Skaistis, opposite the famous Trakai Island Castle. It ranks among the most prominent and culturally valuable manor houses in Lithuania. From the 16th century the peninsula belonged to Lithuanian Tatar nobles, invited by Grand Duke Vytautas to serve in his personal guard, and it changed hands often afterwards. Count Józef Tyszkiewicz Sr bought it in 1867 and his son inherited it in 1891, beginning landscaping and shore works with his wife. Construction started in 1898 to a project by the architect Józef Huss, finishing in 1901 in Classical Revival style with Louis XVI interiors. Its golden age lasted only two decades, from 1897 to 1917. The French landscape architect Édouard André designed a park across the entire peninsula, with lawns, statues, flower beds and curving paths. A stone terrace with two small pavilions stands on the shore, offering what many consider the best view of Trakai Castle across the water. On the other side, a white columned front looks over the lawn. The manor lies about 1.1 km from Trakai Castle across the water and 22.3 km from Vilnius in a straight line, with a longer road around the lake. The grounds are wide and good for a quiet walk, so allow time for them. Check house opening times, as private events may take place here.

Yes, they face each other across the lake, though the road between them curves around the water.
